“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.”

I grew up in Glastonbury, in the south-west of England, surrounded by different esoteric and spiritual ideas. As a teen I started practising yoga and became entranced by the richness and insights of its traditions and their ability to bring about transformations. This interest led me to spend many years in India studying and teaching yoga. Whilst there I spent time in Dharamsala and Tiruvannamalai becoming familiar with the Tibetan buddhist and advaita vedanta traditions and practices.

In India I spent time around people in various enlightened states and became fascinated by the friction between inhabiting these states and being fully in the modern world, having responsibilities and getting things done, resisting the temptation of spiritual bypassing. I now realise that the IFS approach provides the perfect bridge between the two, the ideal method of expansion and integration.

My interest in alternative medicine led eventually to a formal study of Chinese medicine and immersion in the classical Chinese world view. I continue to practise acupuncture and often marvel at its ability to heal. While the Daoist tradition is endlessly fascinating and acupuncture is effective for all sorts of ailments, I felt there must be a more effective modality to access the deeply held emotions within each of us and release them into a space of safety.

After exploring many body-mind modalities including Hakomi, Somatic Experiencing and various types of bodywork I came across Internal Family Systems and my world changed. I recognised that this was exactly what I had been looking for. After receiving many sessions I was, and remain, totally convinced that the IFS model, when combined with the non-dual wisdom traditions of the East, provides an almost limitless capacity for healing our body-minds of held patterns of trauma and enriching our experience of life.

I immediately incorporated IFS into my practice and the results were instantly effective. I’ve since trained in IFS level 1 & 2 and attended various further IFS trainings, and the results have got better and better. IFS is now my main healing modality, and I’m passionate about bringing it into as many lives as possible. The feeling is of a thirsty man who, after years of wandering the desert, has come across a beautiful, bountiful oasis. I feel blessed to be able to share its healing waters with you.
